Apocalyptic Holiday Raptors

I’ve been going crazy the past couple nights trying to develop a design for this gal! There’s no real reason why. The left-ish image of her with the dragon was the first one, and the one on the lined white paper is the most recent.

_{I’ve always wanted to do one of these, but in the past I’d have months go by without really posting much of anything. I made sure to post some art at least once a month this year, though! One of the things that used to define my art was always having such clean line art, and… this year I pretty much threw that out the window. Not necessarily bad, just different. Taking inspiration from the kind of art I like to look at and trying to figure out what style is the most fun for me to draw in, I played with being more sketchy and painterly, as well as using color more often and more prominently. I think it helped my art grow in some ways, where some other techniques I used to use withered a bit. Ah well. As Uncle Walt tells us, we gotta “keep moving forward!”}

Obligatory omg-just-saw-rise-of-the-guardians-must-draw-jack-frost-NOW sketch! I always really liked Jack Frost, even as a kid, so when I saw he would be in this movie, I was super excited! And now that I’ve seen it, the excitement was worth it! * u *
